WEEKLY MENU 09.29.19
Plan your Weekly Menu 09.29.19 and work your plan!
Our Weekly Menu 09.29.19 covers the gamut – we have the grill going (thanks Bert!) and we’ve got the crockpot revving up. We’re having Italian, Mexican, Southern Fried and even a little Tex-Mex.
We’ve been traveling a lot this year.
And you can see the influence in our weekly menus. The Catalina Chicken is inspired by a long weekend spent in California. The Southern Fried Chicken Sandwiches has Charleston, South Carolina to thank for the inspo.
One of the best parts of traveling (besides the food, which is always THE best part) is all the art – especially all the street art. We’re seeing a lot more Street Art (which used to be called graffiti) in Erieland. This post pic is actually street art from Zurich, Switzerland. It was probably done with spray paint. I appreciate talent even if I don’t have any.
I’m not artsy, in any way.
When the boys had school projects, I’d be in a cold sweat heading into Michael’s Craft Store. Baby Boy was actually reprimanded once because it was very obvious he had no parental involvement in his homework. I explained to the teacher that I had already successfully completed third grade, and it was Baby Boy’s turn. She eventually came around to my way of thinking.
But I love seeing art, any way I can get it. Street Art, Museums, Poster Stores, School Projects: the list is endless, thank god.
Weekly menu 09.29.19 has “Italian Sloppy Joes” on it. These are just meat sauce on Italian bread. Of course, we need to make them extra cheesy. Smother with mozzarella cheese and sprinkled with Parmesan before broiling. How to on the meat sauce? Brown a pound or so of ground beef and add a jar of marinara.
If you’re feeling fancy, add my Pasta Sauce recipe to the ground beef instead of jarred sauce. You can also make the bread into garlic toast before you add the meat sauce: spread on a little butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, then toast. Plop your meat sauce and cheese on top and toast again. Just make plenty – these are crowd pleasers.
I explained how I make my (ridiculously simple) Garlic Noodles in the Weekly Menu 06.16.19. Check it out. You’ll be glad you did.
