WEEKLY MENU 06.09.19
Erieland is ramping up to summer!
All the seasons are awesome here in Erie (I love winter too – I swear!) but Summertime is wonderful for getting out and about. It’s much busier now and for the next couple months than it is during the school year. It’s our time to spend outdoors and enjoy!
I’m a fan of a big Sunday Dinner anytime of the year, but we enjoy it on the patio during the summer. The rest of our Weekly Menu 06.09.19 needs to accommodate a lot of coming and going, summer jobs and outdoor season. To do that, our meals are often last minute prep and a lot of grilling. Thank god for Bert and Weber (affiliate link)!
Our Weekly Menu 06.09.19 has a moveable appetizer – we’ll enjoy easy Baked Brie outside.
You could probably figure out a way to make it on the grill too, but that seems like a pretty hit or miss proposition, and probably not worth the effort.
The Lime Cake is a rift on this Orange Juice Cake from Southern Bite. I’ll make a bundt cake with a boxed mix and jazz it up with some limeade. If it works out okay, I’ll let you know! It looks to be a light, refreshing summer dessert.
There are a ton of variations on Vodka Sauce, but we’re making it in a manner similar to our Chicken Fra Diavolo – we’re starting with a good marinara sauce and basically doctoring it up.
The Sweet & Savory Slaw for Saturday is part of the Fried Chicken Sandwich post – and it has a little surprise spice in it. So tasty.
