WEEKLY MENU 03.15.20
Sticking around the house means more opportunity to COOK all week long using the Weekly Menu 03.15.20!
We’re thrilled to have all our boysies home from college this week – and for the foreseeable future. A good side effect with everything going on in the world right now is having everyone around. We’re planning a family game night on Saturday. The biggest issue we tend to have is what exactly to play.
Our financier loves Monopoly, (affiliate links follow – see disclaimer page for details) but the general consensus is that the game just takes too damn long. The link above leads to a more recent game – this one has an electronic banking element. That really limits any potential cheating. Not that we’d ever have that happen here. Ahem.
We’ve got to spread our wings a bit.
A few years ago we got Risk, and I’ve never understood it – maybe it’s time to learn! Conquering countries sounds like something the whole gang could get behind. Or Yahtzee. Who doesn’t like dice games? I’m absolutely going to vote against Sorry. We never play that without everyone getting PO’ed. (It’s billed as the game of sweet, sweet revenge. How can that not go wrong?)
How about a puzzle?
Anything to keep everyone off the electronics a bit, and interacting so we don’t completely go bonkers around here. Plus we’ll eat. Yippee!
Saint Patrick’s Day is part of the weekly Menu 03.15.20 – and we’ve planned on Corned Beef Melts, which are a little easier and less time consuming than the Guinness Braised Beef that’s on the Saint Patrick’s Day Menu. If you have time, by all means go whole hog on Tuesday! We’re filling in a couple of “irish-y” items early on with the Pumpernickel Toasties and the Guinness Chocolate Cake. We should have leftover cake for Tuesday night. Fingers crossed!
