Weekly Menu 03.10.19
Weekly Menu 03.10.19 is full of healthy, easy options for the week!
Simple spaghetti & meatballs were requested and they made it to a starring position on the Weekly Menu 03.10.19 this week. We’ll round out our Sunday meal with Sausage Stuffed Peppers and a big Italian salad. Another request is Apple Strudel, which I’ve never made before. It was prompted by a re-run watch of Hogan’s Heroes. We can’t stop saying Apple Strudel in Shultz’s fake accent, so I hope I’m able to do it justice. There are a ridiculous amount of recipes out there, but I’m going for the simplest.
For many years, I tried to make a good Clam Chowder
that was worthy of the Lenten season. They often turned out tan, which was never a good look. Once I tried a gourmet recipe that used fresh baby clams and was served up with the clam shells. It looked beautiful in the tureen. Bert and DOLD were troopers, but that was also a fail. Turns out we didn’t want to slurp up the clam goodness directly from the shell.
Finally, finally, I found the recipe for The Best Clam Chowder and it actually is. Give it a try – if you don’t like clams, switch them out and make corn chowder. The recipe is practically no-fail.
I’m going to make enough meatballs on Sunday that I can freeze them and have them again on Hoagies Saturday night.
What’s the difference between subs, hoagies, and grinders?
Not much, actually. Mostly it depends on where you hail from. Normally we call them subs, but I wanted to get fancy and went with the Hoagie designation. I’m crazy like that.
Without further ado, here is the Weekly Menu 03.10.19!
