WEEKLY MENU 01.24.21
The Weekly Menu 01.24.21 is the menu for the final week of January and it’s a beaut- comfort food makes an appearance a time or two, and settling in front of a roaring fire is the extent of the plan.
The Weekly Menu 01.24.21 has a post picture that absolutely fascinates me. It’s of a pool in Australia at a club called the Bondi Icebergs Club. The club rules include one that sees every member in the outdoor pool, competing 3 weeks out of every four, all year long, for FIVE years. It’s summer now in Australia, so the ocean spray is likely more balmy, but probably not toasty.
Our Swimming Club dates back to 1929 and owes its origin to the desire of a band of local life savers trying to maintain their fitness during the Winter months. They formed the Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club, drew up a constitution and elected office bearers.
Included in the constitution was a rule that to maintain membership it was mandatory that swimmers compete on three Sundays out of four for a period of five years. This rule, known as the “15B rule” still exists and has been the source of much commentary over the years.

Is it a regular pool other than being perched on the beach? Maybe not so much.
The Coldest and The Saltiest:
Just a few more lengths in, my lips and the inside of my mouth started to tingle. Was that… salt?!I very quickly realised that 1) the pool is not heated, and 2) it’s filled with seawater. This had me excited – I had never swam lengths in saltwater! The novelty soon wore off though, and I realised just how thirsty the salty water was making me.

So that’s a bucket list visit, for sure. Dreaming about taking a dip in a super cold pool in the middle of the winter is what I do during January here, when I can only imagine travelling again.
The Weekly Menu 01.24.21 gives us plenty of time to dream – we’re having easy eats all week long.
Sunday starts out with chicken pot pie that we’re making “pot pie” by adding puff pastry toppers to our “stoup” bowls filled with an easy chicken stew. (Affiliate links follow – see disclaimer page for details.)
Our Meatless Monday is a take on an old Pizzeria Uno recipe. We’ll make a batch of pizza dough, put it in our big cast iron pan and fill it with creamy mashed potatoes. We’ll top the pizza with a mixture of mozzarella and fontina cheeses, and serve with a side of chunky marinara for dipping. Doesn’t that sound delish? I might should make two.
We’re trying a tasty looking Taco Lasagna on Tuesday. It’s layered with taco meat, cheese sauce and flour tortillas. I don’t know how that could be bad.
Enough talking! Here’s the Weekly Menu 01.24.21:
