Our Weekly Menu 10.27.19 includes a menu for one of my favorite holidays: Halloween. I’ve always loved it, and despite the fact that everyone said I would eventually outgrow it, I have persisted. I may not wear the dress, but I will almost certainly don the hat.
Growing up, we used to get an insane number of kids at the door. We lived on a big block, house-wise, and as everyone knows, it’s a lot easier to cover that type of neighborhood. My Mom also used to buy regulation sized candy bars, so everyone knew to hit us up. Often more than once.
The block we live on now only has 6 house, and only three of us ever turn on our lights. The savvy kids keep going. Hope springs eternal, though, so we’ll fill up the candy bowl with the good stuff. (Not as good as Mom’s, but pretty good nonetheless.) I’m sure it won’t go to waste, one way or another.
Weekly Menu 10.27.19 has an easy meal (slightly spooky) for Halloween~
The Sausage Snake-Wiches are sausage hoagies on thin baguettes. We’ll smear some marinara sauce on them for color. The Bloody Intestines go by Red Pepper Pasta when it’s not Halloween. Muhahahahahaha.
How about a party? Check out “How to Have a Screaming Good Halloween Party”. It has fabulous ideas and an easy, crowd pleasing meal.
Sunday’s appetizer is a super simple one – we’re topping room temp cream cheese with a couple spoonfuls of Salted Caramel Sauce (we’re making it, but store bought would work just as well). We’re serving it with thinly sliced apples. And crackers of course. I don’t want a rebellion. This super simple appetizer would be perfect for Thanksgiving Dinner too. Planning ahead here.
