Weekly Menu 10.21.18
Our Weekly Menu 10.21.18 starts out easy – instead of a major meal, we’re taking Sunday dinner a little lighter this week with a Big Steak Salad. Salad is a good way to make an expensive ingredient like steak stretch a little farther. The Cheddar Cheese Dressing is a delicious rift on Blue Cheese Dressing only not as strident as Blue Cheese, plus it’s more universally liked. Blue Cheese can a little polarizing to the masses at the dinner table.
We are so close to Halloween that I practically have Pumpkin Spice in my nose full time.
And I’m a little sick of it, frankly, so we are using some leftover Italian Cream Cake cake (how hard is leftover cake to believe?) to make one of our favorite desserts ever: Trifle. Check out our Salted Caramel Cinnamon Trifle (that was a good one) or White Chocolate Red Velvet Blueberry Trifle (that’s a mouthful. Literally) for the how to’s. There is an Almond Joy instant Pudding at our grocery store, which will pair well with the coconut in our cake. We’ll add some slivered almonds, some hot fudge and some Cool Whip. Because Cool Whip.
Taco Tuesday is going Sandwich this week – we love Sloppy Joe’s in their many forms, and the Mexican Sloppy Joe’s will continue that tradition. More on that later.
Lasagna Soup sounds great, doesn’t it? We’re going to give this Pinterest favorite a shot – we’ll let you know how it goes.
