WEEKLY MENU 08.18.19

Our Weekly Menu 08.18.19 contains plenty of Baby Boy’s favorites – because he’s headed off to college on Friday. GULP! I’m pretending I’m going to be fine, we’ve been through this before. His two older brothers have gone away to school and I haven’t lost it. Much. It’s always tough the first couple of days, but he is so ready to go, it makes it a little easier on Mum.

He is ready to go.

Another thing that makes it easier is Amazon. Back in my day, the only way to get course books was to go to the book store on campus. At that point, our only choice was new or used. Now you can actually RENT textbooks. Isn’t that brills? Amazon Textbooks let’s you buy them too, but for the books you aren’t going to want to keep forever (Astronomy elective anyone?) the rentals are the way to go.

The list of things they need to take with them has changed drastically as we’ve gone along. I was talking to a Mom sending off her first child to school recently, and her list of things to get was dizzying. I (almost) felt bad when I realized we needed to get a comforter and a couple sets of sheets, but that’s about it. Boy Babies are especially easy to get ready to go – they’re happy with an all in one shampoo/body-wash and a tube of deod. Shower shoes and toothpaste pretty much round it out.

Weekly Menu 08.18.19 is full of favorites.

We’re starting out the week with the End of Summer Picnic – there’s grilling and easy eating with a fabulous finale. Baby Boy is a sausage machine, so the super easy Roasted Sausage, Pepper & Potato Sheet Pan Dinner is a no brainer. We’re trying a new to us recipe – the Cheesy Mexican Meatballs. The pictures are to die for.
