WEEKLY MENU 03.19.23
Chocolate Week happens during the Weekly Menu 03.19.23 – I think we can work with that!
American Chocolate Week is running throughout the Weekly Menu 03.15.23. How fortuitous!
American Chocolate Week is celebrated during the third full week of March every year. This year, the week will be celebrated from March 19 to 25, but we wish it was celebrated every week. Remember that time your friend offered you a piece of chocolate and you turned it down? Us neither. Let’s be real, you can try all the gold-plated, caviar-coated, truffle sprinkled food in the world but none of these things come even close to how good chocolate can be. This versatile food can be had on almost every occasion and for any meal. If anyone dares question why you’re eating an entire Hershey’s bar for breakfast just tell them it’s the patriotic thing to do. It’ll work, trust us. After all, what better excuse to consume ungodly amounts of chocolate than a whole week dedicated to it?
National Today
We’re pretty equal opportunity chocolate lovers. I don’t care if it’s candy, cake, ice cream, pie, soda, cookies… the list goes on. I also don’t care if it actually has any cocoa particles in it – white chocolate, semi-sweet, bittersweet, dark chocolate. All of them are special in their own way. And I know white chocolate isn’t actually chocolate at all. I just don’t care.
What’s white chocolate? Actually it isn’t even chocolate because it does not contain cocoa particles. It is just cocoa butter mixed with sugar, often with a little vanilla added for flavoring.

Yeah. I might have a teeny, tiny obsession.
What’s for eats during the Weekly Menu 03.19.23?
Honestly, I looked up main courses including chocolate, but the only one that looked even vaguely satisfying was a super involved Mexican Mole’ that took more ingredients than I have in the entire spice cabinet, so we opted solely for the super simple, but extraordinary satisfying Mocha Chocolate Covered Oreos, because Mama doesn’t want to be the size of a house. And we added in a little cocoa powder on the steak rub, but there is so little in that mixture, I’m not sure we can call it “chocolate”.
WEEKLY MENU 03.19.23 has a little error. (And I’m far to lazy to correct it now). We aren’t having Caramelized Onions with our steaks. SCALLOPED Onions are actually on the menu. They go phenomenally well with steak, and, even if you don’t think you adore onions, you should give them a shot. They are just that good.
On Monday we’re having a “Budha Bowl” which is basically a bowl of a nice hearty grain with healthy chicken and veggies on it. Don’t tell the OG Baby Boy, but it may, possibly, have an Asian flair. I think the peanut dressing gave it away.
Tuesday we’re mixing things up a little bit with Taco Spaghetti. Wiggedy, what? One pot, Mexican spiced ground beef, spaghetti, and, drum roll please, Velveeta. Did you know you can buy Velveeta at Amazon? That can’t possibly bode well for our health.
We’re pairing rice with Italian to make up for it…
Pork Chops Italiano (I SWEAR I’m posting that recipe this week) are being served atop herbed Italian rice. The chops are absolutely smothered in a bell pepper, onion, tomato sauce, so I think it will be perfect.
We’re rounding out the Weekly Menu 03.19.23 with Bert’s favorite clam chowder, followed closely by whatever he’d like to make on Saturday. You might have noticed the “Bert’s Choice” option on the menu for the last few weeks. We’ve been travelling or it was just he and I or we didn’t feel like eating at home, so he’s not been up to bat yet. I feel like this is our week!
