WEEKLY MENU 02.06.22
We’re dreaming of warmth during the Weekly Menu 02.06.22 while we huddle by the fire.
What’s inspiring our dreaming? The beautiful blue waters of exotic locales. The post picture is of the gorgeous Maldives. What are the Maldives?
Maldives officially the Republic of Maldives, is an archipelagic country in the Indian subcontinent of Asia, situated in the Indian Ocean. It lies southwest of Sri Lanka and India, about 750 kilometres (470 miles; 400 nautical miles) from the Asian continent’s mainland.
The chain of 26 atolls stretches from Ihavandhippolhu Atoll in the north to Addu Atoll in the south (across the Equator). Comprising a territory spanning roughly 90,000 square kilometres (35,000 sq mi) including the sea, land area of all the islands comprises 298 square kilometres (115 sq mi), Maldives is one of the world’s most geographically dispersed sovereign states and the smallest Asian country as well as one of the smallest Muslim countries by land area and, with around 557,751 inhabitants, the 2nd least populous country in Asia. Malé is the capital and the most populated city, traditionally called the “King’s Island” where the ancient royal dynasties ruled for its central location.[13]

It warms me up just looking at it!
A couple of teeny, tiny problems with putting this on the let’s fly list. The flight is fairly reasonable at $1200 per person, when you consider the cost per mile. It’s about 8,833 miles from beautiful Erieland. That works out to approximately $.13 per mile. Reasonable, no? Apparently, the place is a real bargain.
AmazonWhat’s the problem? Time.
ERIE TO PITTSBURGH | 2 hours |
PITTSBURGH to NYC | 1 hour, 20 minutes |
NYC to ISTANBUL | 9 hours, 15 minutes |
LAYOVER IN ISTANBUL | 15 hours |
ISTANBUL to MALDIVES | 8 hours |
TOTAL TIME | mind-boggling |
The total of all the flight times plus layovers (not including getting to the airport, etc.) works out to about three days. Yes, you read that right. THREE DAYS. Just to get there. And unless you completely fall in love with the place, you’re going to need to take 3 days to get back too. Unless…
Does anybody have a private jet we can borrow for a few days?
What does all this have to do with the Weekly Menu 02.06.22?
Not much, really. Although the Weekly Menu 02.06.22 is full of easy, fast meals that will leave you with plenty of time to dream about the Maldives.
We’re recovering from our fabulous Dark & Stormy Dinner Party, so Sunday dinner is a little lighter and even easier than the party. We’re having chowder, some good crusty bread and leftovers from the charcuterie board. I’m thinking dinner in front of the fire for this one. Did I mention we literally have three feet of snow in the back yard?
We’re adding a few summer sides to the menu on Monday. It’s very reminiscent of a picnic, but the Choppin’ Broccoli Salad rounds out our Chopped Burgers perfectly. And makes us think of warmer days.
