Firecracker Chicken Bites
How appropriate are Firecracker Chicken Bites for the week of July 4th? These are simple, satisfying appetizers that are usually gone in a flash
(bang)!
This recipe comes together in a hurry: while the pan is heating up, cut the chicken and season with salt and cayenne pepper.
Allow the skillet or cast iron pan (affiliate link) to get good and hot before adding the chicken.
Allow the chicken to cook for a few minutes without disturbing to get the best sear.
After three to four minutes, stir and continue to cook on all sides. While the chicken is cooking, whip together the dipping sauce, right in it’s serving/mixing dish. (affiliate link)
Saute the chicken until it is cooked through, about 10 minutes total, depending on the size of the chicken pieces. I use a paper towel with a little water on it to clean up the bowl before serving. Fast, easy and delicious!
I call these appetizers “Toothpick Food” because you need something to pick them up.
And picking them up with your hands in mixed company is frowned upon.
These are great passed to a crowd or presented on a platter with TOOTHPICKS!
