We’ve got summer in the rear view, but the weather is still gorgeous, and now we get to enjoy fall, my favorite season. Yippee!
When I met Bert, he was wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins T-shirt. I thought he was super cute (still do), but I had no idea what the Penguins were. He explained nicely, when I asked him if they were a football team, that they were, in fact an NHL Hockey team as well as his favorite sport team from his hometown.
Naturally, I became a huge fan and followed them immediately. Bert said I was lucky I didn't break an ankle jumping on that bandwagon.
It might have hindered my appreciation a smidge if he had told me that hockey runs about 10 months of the year, more if you are super lucky and your team gets into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
With fall comes hockey, and the first game around here usually entails dinner on the couch in front of the tv. That’s what’s happening Thursday Night. Football season continues Friday, and we’re hoping for a little fall chill to enjoy the chili.
