Weekly Menu 09.02.18 already? It doesn’t seem possible that it’s time for Labor Day. But here we are – all the boys are back at school, fresh and ready for the new semester. 

An easy Sunday menu eases our way into the Labor Day Celebration Menu that includes a delicious appetizer, a little different take on grilled chicken sandwiches (Yep, Bert is on the grill again!) and perfect end of summer sides in corn and broiled tomatoes. If you’ve never tried Blondies, take a look – they are like Brownies only, well, Blonde. Easy and delicious with a brown sugar flavor. They go well topped with ice cream too, but what dessert doesn’t?

Busy week around here with beginning of the school year meetings and activity, so we have easy, quick meals throughout. The crock pot is unusually not in use, although I’ll probably keep the Italian Sloppy Joe’s warm there while we are out so we can assemble quickly upon our return.

A note about pre-planning: grill an extra ear of corn on Monday to use in the Charred Corn and Poblano Salsa. Brown an extra 3/4 pound of ground beef when making the Italian Sloppy Joes on Wednesday – save that to use on the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza on Friday. Both will save time and make dinner prep super easy.
